Equals Me is a small business specializing in candles and home decor, offering handmade coconut soy candles and unique decor. The idea for Equals Me started during a challenging time of postpartum depression with my first son, prompting me to prioritize my mental health through self-care. This journey led me to discover the importance of creating a relaxing environment by burning candles. However, I noticed issues like black smoke from traditional candles made of paraffin. This led me to research candle materials extensively, learning about paraffin (known for potential controversy due to the production of harmful chemicals), soy, and soy blend waxes, and the difference between cotton and wooden wicks. Realizing the drawbacks of paraffin candles, including headaches and sustainability concerns, I decided to create my own candles. It took over a year to perfect the craft and understand candle care. Our candles are made from eco-friendly coconut soy wax for a clean burn, free of toxins, parabens, carcinogens, and phthalates. They feature natural crackling wood wicks sourced ethically from FSC-certified mills, offering a cozy crackling sound when lit. Additionally, our candles include premium fragrance and essential oils, along with biodegradable glitter for a shimmering effect.
